Our carefully chosen cotton gauze is a wonderful carrying choice: it's huggable and comfortable, cool in the summer, and no bulk over or under winter clothes. Each has a label marking the center of the wrap and an innovative pocket at the end of the carrier that stores the wrap in a tidy bundle when not in use. This wrap is wide enough to securely carry even a tiny baby on your back, yet lightweight enough to wear on hot days, compact enough to tuck in your bag, and comfortable enough to carry your child for hours.

Each carrier is hand-dyed or hand-batiked under good working conditions by artists in Indonesia. Each is packaged in a reusable fabric bag.

Mama and baby Bali Mynahs rest peacefully amid a canopy of branches along this wrap. I call this "Alice," after my bird-loving grandmother. The Bali Mynahs are a badly endangered species of bird -- in 2001, it was estimated fewer than a dozen were left living in the wild. For each wrap purchased, Gypsy Mama will donate 5% of the sale price to the Wildlife Conservation Society.
